#Metoo - The dark side.

The phenomenon that's been hitting the internet, the phenomenon that's broken the hallowed 'glass wall', that's been changing the lives of so many people, providing relief to some, justice for others and doom for many. I am a proponent supporter of this motion. But nesessarily all the way? I'd like to differ. It's a great move, it's empowering women, giving them the platform they needed to voice their concerns and it's really the thing that has been missing for centuries, that the women needed to vent out their anger and frustration. But are all these true? Some women veil the mask of anonymity to help preserve their identity, which is justified, but how can we be sure they are genuine cases? Some cases are yes, easy to identify and of course one can identify some by the genuinity of words and the description of events. But I'm concerned how some people may take advantage of this and blackmail some people because once published, it is sure to tarnish the image of the person, even if later the case is said to be sorted. Also, more than that, it may subdue or rather hide the cases of the real victims, because of the unending posts everyday. I thoroughly stand by the movement, but it has a lot of loopholes that have to be monitored. It can be devastating for a person, if wrongly accused, and it can be misused to a great extent. Of course, we know a woman can never lie about an issue such as this, but staying anonymous is an issue which is required, but which can create doubts. It is a conundrum which everyone would like to readily believe without giving it a second thought. The accused person is mauled on the internet, removed from his job and in some cases even assaulted. This is justified, but not for the wrong person. I again emphasise the fact that I'm really happy with this movement, but this aspect has struck me and I'm surprised how only few people have realised it. Never dismiss any post as fake or made up though, never at all. It most likely would be a genuine one, a woman who is in need of our support. But care must be taken to incriminate the persons responsible and separating the actual ones. I'm at a loss for a way to this at this point of time, but I hope there soon comes out to be one. Till then, I congratulate everyone on a great success and wholeheartedly laud the support that this movement has got from all quarters.
